Begin Your Journey Toward Your Best Self Today
Who
we are
At the heart of our practice is a simple belief: healing happens when people feel seen, understood, and supported.
What we offer
Individual therapy for adults 18+: Personalized treatment to address anxiety, depression, grief, stress, life transitions, self-esteem, and more. We partner with you to set goals, build coping skills, and create lasting change.
Trauma-informed care: Gentle, paced work to process and heal from trauma using approaches that prioritize safety and regulation.
Telehealth sessions: Flexible scheduling to meet your needs, through secure teletherapy sessions.
Areas of Focus
High-functioning anxiety (professionals, parents, etc.) who seem to have it all together and achieving success on the outside, while struggling to hold it together on the inside. This often, but not always, looks like naturally intelligent and highly educated individuals to whom things may have come easily early in life, and who find themselves struggling as they progress through adulthood.
Perfectionism, all-or-nothing thinking and behavior styles.
ADHD - many of our clients are often diagnosed in adulthood and learning to manage these struggles that they may have found easier to mask earlier in life.
People-pleasing, personal boundaries, relationship issues
Our approach
Collaborative and individualized: Therapy is a partnership. We tailor interventions to your values, strengths, and life context rather than using one-size-fits-all solutions.
Compassionate and practical: We balance emotional exploration with concrete tools you can use between sessions to manage symptoms and make progress.
Rachel Mattis, LPC
Hi! My name is Rachel Mattis and I am so glad that you've chosen to prioritize your personal growth and healing journey. I specialize in guiding individuals dealing with issues including relationship challenges, setting healthy boundaries, managing anxiety, overcoming perfectionism, shedding people-pleasing tendencies, and adapting to major life changes. If you're currently navigating any of these aspects of life, I would be honored to help you find your way through to accomplish your goals. I will assist you in embracing your strengths and core values more deeply, while also facilitating the adjustment of behaviors and thoughts to help you achieve your goals.
My therapy approach involves supporting you in uncovering barriers in your life, including early life experiences, unproductive behavior patterns, and internalized beliefs. Together, we can uncover a path to effectively tackle the obstacles you're encountering, while also equipping you with coping mechanisms for the present and future.
I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Education from the University of Florida (Go Gators!), and my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Central Florida. I gained my clinical experience in a variety of clinical settings, including the community mental health clinic on campus during my graduate studies, adolescent substance abuse residential treatment, school-based individual and group counseling services for high-school students, inpatient psychiatric hospitalization, and adolescent mental health residential treatment before transitioning to the private practice setting.
I identify as Jewish and as a Zionist. While this does not inform my general practice, I can and would be honored to offer a safe space to clients of similar identities who may have difficulty finding safe therapeutic spaces or feeling understood.
I am also a wife, mom, stepmom, audiobook enthusiast, and introverted extrovert. I can’t wait to meet you!
